Trademark

A trademark is a sign used to distinguish the goods or services of one undertaking from those of its competitors. After registration, it confers an exploitation monopoly.

Validity Requirements

  • A distinctive, lawful, available and non-deceptive sign.

Protection

  • Registration with the INPI, the EUIPO or WIPO.

  • A monopoly renewable indefinitely for ten-year periods (Article L. 711-1 of the French IP Code).
