Genuine use of a trademark is the real and effective use of the sign for the goods or services covered, in line with its function of indicating origin.
Absent genuine use for five years, the mark is liable to revocation (Article L. 714-5 of the French IP Code).
Use must be public, non-symbolic, dated and located.
